Our first big road trip

Our first big road trip went off without a hitch! The babies are great travelers and fell asleep as soon as the car would start, no matter what time or how full their bellies were - we are both very thankful!
We had a great time in Big Sky...it is so gorgeous there. Dave has a ton of land and a great house with a lot of personality! It will be fun to see what Colin and Dave do to it in the upcoming years!
We did our usual when Dave and I get together, cook, eat, and drink. We had a great bolognese sauce which wasn't done until 11:00pm in true de Simas/Neal fashion! Carl and I loved showing off Sophie and Jack to all of Dave's friends who have become friends or ours over the years.
With Uncle Dave, Carl, and me looking on Jack discovered Sophie for the first time giving her a good long look and reaching up for her - it was one of the most incredible moments! It didn't take long for Sophie to discover Jack...I am sure that one day I will long for the time that they didn't realize the other was there.
Sophie is still on the monitor and doing well - we are really ready to get rid of the machine, which Carl an I call Norco, our third child. At their 2 month check up Sophie is weighing 9lb 1oz and is 20 1/2 inches long and Jack is 9lb and 21 inches long...still doing what they need to be doing - growing!
We can't wait for our next trip to Big Sky - but first we are planning a trip to Seattle to introduce the twins to the rest of our family and some good friends!

Getting Into the Swing of Things

Well, now that we have had awhile to adjust we are really getting the hang of things (most of the time). We have been doing our job as parents, swaddling, swaying, and shhhing. At last measure Jack was up to 8 lbs and Sophie weighed in at 7 lb 12 oz. We are gearing up for a trip to Big Sky next weekend to see Dave's new house - we should have some stories from the 8 hour car ride! Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Dr. Smetana - ob/gyn who delivered Jack and Sophie - she is the greatest!
